Why are credentialing and contracting important?
Credentialing is the process of obtaining, verifying, and assessing the qualifications of a provider. Likewise, contracting is the process of forming and maintaining relationships between a provider and a payer. Any lapse in either of these processes, or any delay in the setting up of these relationships only costs time and money for any practice, and does not allow you to effectively service your patients to the highest level.
